OMG. This should be labeled NSFW.
I am going to crash the internet saving all of this to my computer now....

Is it just me or does this shot look computer animated.
I really think I need to stop playing games for a while and go outside...

A ton of great cars, but not a single E28 M5?

Front hinged hood BMWs = air cooled Porsches.......
Timing is spot on too (993 and E34 ended in 1995)
Great shots

I need a change of pants after seeing those E30s

I've never understood why people think that removing this piece of trim looks good.

Great shots, but please stop with the music. Terrible and I would much rather just listen to the cars.

So did they hold the meetup in a parking lot made up entirely of handicapped spaces?
![]() 08/12/2013 at 10:35 |

It's the stupid American license plate.
The trim has to be removed in order for the plate to be flush mounted. See, in the bottom photo, that crease interferes with the plate.
The mk1 Focus has the same problem.

Yea! THAT'S how you showcase BMW pictures!

I think it looks okay. The bigger pet peeve here (and it's minor, to be sure) is putting the M badge on it. I'm assuming they put M power under the hood, but I love the look of BMWs from the mid-'60s through the late '70s so much that it makes me cringe a tiny bit to see an M badge slapped on here. I'm not arguing "all original," just seems to me that slapping the M on there is a bit of a "status" move more than anything.
In a dream world, one day I will buy a rough-but-running 2000/2002/CS and over a period of four or five years do a restomod thing on it to make it the car I want, because I absolutely love the body style.

I was wondering what was up with the two art cars that I'd seen over the past week. One was the one that's pictured, the other was something older. I didn't get a close enough look to figure out what it was.

I feel like the trim bar anchors the lights appropriately. Without it, they kind of float in space. Just my opinion.
As for the M badge; according to the article, this 2002 has an S14 (E30 M3 engine). "M2" is a common moniker in the 2002 community for this kind of engine-swapped car.

Ah, derp, I r good at reading. Thanks for pointing that out.
Yeah, that seems like a super cool swap to do. I know this is sacrilege in most circles, but even as cool as the '80s M3s probably are to drive, I just do not like the way they look. The 2000/2002 and CS are just so damn classic looking to me. Would love to have the vintage look of those with the E30 power.

I, too, am a fan of vintage (even patina'd) looks with modern technology . Of course, since S14 parts are ridiculously expensive, I went with the much cheaper, yet still a lot of fun, M42:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Incidentally, I own both and E30 and a vintage BMW.

You're my hero then — maybe in 10 years when the student loans are paid off and I've fulfilled the honey-do list of improvements to the house, I'll have the scratch to get a 1600/1800/2000 like I want and then I will track you down for tips!
![]() 08/12/2013 at 12:03 |

F that. I have student loans, am currently doing a basement renovation and have a baby on the way. Do or do not, there is no try.

That's what I thought too. There was only one E60 as well!

Pics or it didn't happen.

I will agree that the building behind does looks smooth and non-textured.

I guess that's one way, but I'm about to sell my only BMW, lol. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to be in the BMW club without a BMW.

Amen... where there's a will there's a way, and I just yet don't have the will I suppose. But it will happen in the future, I know it will. Congrats on the baby, BTW, we have a 4 month old (our first) and it's pretty crazy in every conceivable way. Can't wait till he's older so I can both sink money into a vintage beemer and spend the time working on it hopefully with him. :)
